I got recommended this place from a friend at work and with my birthday coming up (January), I figured why not treat myself. We booked the 30% off in January deal and rocked up not knowing what to expect. It's in a lovely (but expensive) part of the city and walking in you could see it would be lavish. The lighting was dim but good and we got a little confused as there was nobody waiting at the sorry, so we went upstairs and to the bar and checked in and quickly got seated. The chair and booth was so soft and comfy I sank into it and felt like I was gonna sink forever ... but I survived and it was comfy. The place setting was so much fancier than I was used to and it oozed posh. We quickly got served and the server was lovely and helpful and the restaurant was just lovely. When we got our food (decided in just a main and later desert as we planned for later tacos) and oh my god .. the ribeye was the best steak I've ever had. It was so tender and juicy and cooked to perfection and the thick cut chips were brilliant. I just got a single small glass of red (which was more than I usually pay for a bottle ) and was just lovely. The desert came later and my god that was equally as good. The bill was £80 for 2 of us but with the 30% off went down to £60 which was cheaper than other places we've been to but only with the money off. Would I go again as a date or treat? ... Absolutely

I really really like Grand Pacific, in fact it could be my favourite bar in Manchester! It's classy and up market and with that you do draw a slightly pretentious crowd but then again you are in Spinningfields and you'll have to get used to that! However, will classy and upmarket bars should come a pleasant and special experience - and you get that at Grand Pacific. I've never seen the bar too busy, nor had any issues with walking in to enjoy a beer or cocktail with a group of friends (a rarity in Manchester these days) and have always had fast, prompt service from bar staff - a winner all round so far! My favourite bit is the outdoor terrace. It's heated (a must in our city) and offers a really comfortable outdoor option if you want to pretend you're on your jollies! I should disclaimer that this 5 star review is based on visiting purely to drink and I've not yet had any food in here - though it's Australasia's siamese twin so I expect it's pretty damn good.

Came here for a bit of a celebration lunch with work on a Friday, which for some reason at 1pm was absolutely dead. As in, the 6 of us were literally the only ones in the place. Anyway, that was possibly the only bad thing about it. The interior is amazing- it looks quite Grecian, and definitely gives off that premium feel that it intends to. It's actually joined with Australasia, so it keeps up with the luxe feel of its neighbouring bar/restaurant too. It's fairly pricey- the cheapest bottle of prosecco was about £30, and the tapas style lunch menu started with small plates at approx £7 upwards. But when the food comes, you can see why. I had a mixture of Japanese/Thai style tapas plate such as fried pork and rice in batter, duck sticky buns, beef salad, and a fish curry with jasmine rice. The actual names of the dishes were much more exotic than I just reeled off, but I can't quite remember what they were called! The duck was by far the best- it was so sweet and a lovely texture, and filling enough on its own! The beef was also delicious, to say I don't usually opt for red meat when I eat out. Just a very nice fine dining place to eat if you want a bit of class and luxury. If you like Pan Asian style food and lots of sharing options, then you'll love it here. Just a shame the emptiness let it down!

Same owners as Australasia. This place better if you just want drinks as lots more space and seating areas. Cocktails here are awesome. The staff know their stuff!

Situated in Spiningfields and part of the same company as Australasia, Grand Pacific is simply AMAZING!! We had Asian high tea. This included a selection of different Sushi, exotic dishes, spring rolls and more. My favourite was the pigeon dish. Then to follow, we had a selection of cakes and to finish off we had Asian tea. This place is on my top 5 amazing eateries, I was blown away my the taste and quality and have not got a negative thing to say. Everyone must visit. There is also a vegetarian high tea option too which looked and tasted equally as good. A glass of champagne was also included. The Asian high tea was £25 per person but well worth the money. I liked it so much I'm going back next week!

Spent a very pleasant Sunday afternoon here enjoying afternoon tea at one of their covered outdoor tables. I felt like I was in a colonial garden rather than outside a bar at the bottom of a tower in Manchester! The guys who have designed this place have really got the urban oasis theme right for the outdoor area. Opted for the Asian afternoon tea which is£25 zoned comes with a glass of fizz. Cleverly it is served in 2 waves- wave 1 which is a lovely selection of sushi ( unfortunately we scoffed it before I thought about getting a snap but it did look impressive!) wave 2 was a selection of sweet treats in miniature (see pic) just the right size to have a little taste of everything and not feel too guilty! Serving it in 2 waves was great as it felts like you have had a proper meal rather than the constant grazing I normally do with afternoon teas! The waiter also also you as much time between waves so you don't feel rushed. Meal was finished off with a pot of flowering tea although watch out for the wicker tea strainers they are more of an ornament than a useful tool as they do let a fair bit of leaf through! I wouldn't recommend trying to use the side of it where the wicker is more tightly packed either as the tea tends to go all over the table as I unfortunately found out -fail! Service was efficient and attentive would visit again!

The queen of Spinningfields, Australasia has now extended its offering with the opening of Grand Pacific; a contemporary, colonial style bar in the heart of Manchester financial capital. It can be accessed via a secluded staircase inside Austalasia, this unique cocktail bar evokes the atmosphere of a luxury Pacific beach hideaway with smart colonial style decor in cream and white, a long bar, and a secret tropical garden. With exquisite cocktails as its main focus. The menu is the same as Australasia so you can expect some mouth watering sushi and desserts here. The whole place screams class and panache from every corner. This bar is definitely very unique and reminds me a lot of classy cocktail bars in London or New York. The pricing definitely is very high end as you would imagine and you need to put on some swanky clothes to feel not so out of place here. I can vouch that the food is delicious and so are the cocktails, but that you can find in a lot of other places too so this one you need to visit purely for the ambiance and the whole experience. Verdict : Great place to visit when you want to feel special!
